White Interior with High Ceilings, this is really nice interior scene that i want to share some of the process for creating this image.
First it is a simple scene but with a nice mood, for modeling was pretty basic as you can see:
The lighting was done using Daylight System and Vray Skylight Portals in each windows, here you can see the position of the sun light and the settings:
Now let me show you the vray physical camera settings for this render:
Let me show you some material Setup, in these scene i did not use a lot of materials
The Concrete floor material does not have a bump map because i used vray displacement with a concrete bump map.
Now it is time to check the vray rendering setup, i did not use high render settings in this scene because i was looking for something a little bit more faster:
And this is how the render looks like straight out of the render without any post production:
For giving a more dramatic lighting, i did a render a pass of vray volume light to add it in post production, this is the render pass of the volume light:
Having the Raw Render and the Volume Light Render Pass, i added a background image, glow and bloom to the windows, color correction, some chromatic aberration and levels, for having the final render:
And another shot from the scene:
I hope that you liked and remember that this SCENE IS READY TO DOWNLOAD, you will get THE FULL SCENE + THE PSD OF THE POST PRODUCTION, this scene works with 3DS MAX 2009 AND ABOVE with VRAY

Real nice, could you tell me how did you do that volume light pass?
Thanks!

i am glad you liked, about volume pass it is pretty easy, override a black material to the entire scene, put a target direct light, go to environment effects and select volume light and play with the parameters, i will try to make a tutorial just for that in the coming days

Thanks, that tutorial will be great. For that volume light render do you turn off Indirect Illumination? is it just a target direct with vrayshadows, volume light, override mtl and direct illumination only? thanks

hi
thanks for sharing this beautiful scene with us. could you please tell me about your camera type? and why exponential in render setting? it seems you are using gamma 2.2 space in material editor but in your render setup you set 1.0 for gamma in color mapping!
December 14, 2011 at 7:45 pm
i am using the vray physical camera i do not know how i missed to put in the making of (i have updated the post with the vray camera settings), i use exponential because it is good to prevent burn out around the light and this color mapping method gives a less saturated colors, and yes i use gamma 2.2 in 3ds max, it is not necessary to use it in the render setup, if i use it in the color mapping the gamma 2.2 i will have to turn on, don’t affect colors (adaptation only)

Hi,
It’s very nice and realistic.
Regarding the vray volume light is there any option to use it.
It would be grateful if you could have a tutorial for the vray volume light.
Cheers,
Saad

Hi aleso, can i ask you something ?
I tried using override but i have some problem with the windows because i used a glass material for the panels.
If i use override it will change even the glass and this way the light can’t pass through.
Should i use override with exclude or you got other methods ?
Thanks for helping and keep up with the good tutorial
