This is the second part of the making of, in the one I will show you some material setup so you can study the shaders and improve your own.
First you need to look for reference about the material that you want to replicate, also it is important to find high resolution textures and create the maps for the every texture, the bump, specular and if it is necessary the displacement map.
Let’s take a look to some materials from this scene:
The Wood Flooring:
This is the setting for the wood flooring, you can see the diffuse, the specular and the bump map, the reflect is setup to 50% and the Bump map to 5%. For the bump map I used high pass filter in photoshop to have hard sharp edges.
This is the setting for the wood panel for the media center:
And this is the material for the white fabric sofa, it is pretty simple, but with the 3 maps that I mentioned before.
For the Black Leather I used a combination of Mix material for each slot, the diffuse, bump and specular, you can see the layout of the shader here:
